to Siem Reap Airport
Upon arrival, pick up then transfer to check in hotel if room available in the morning. Visit Floating Villages of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a ride in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia and the largest in Asia. Here you’ll see plenty of examples of the Khmer way of life on the Tonle Sap. Lunch at local restaurant and continue to visit Roluos Group ( Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei temples ), Roluos Group is a collection of monuments representing the remains of Hariharalaya, the first major capital of the Angkorian-era Khmer Empire. It has become know as the < Roluos Group> due to its proximity to the modern town of Roluos. The ancient capital was named for Hari-Hara, a synthesis of the Hindu gods Shiva and Vishnu.Though there was an existing settlement in the area before the rise of Angkor, Hariharalaya was established as a capital city by Jayavarman II and served as the Khmer capital for over 70years. |

Breakfast at hotel. Visit ancient city of Angkor Thom (12th century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King, and Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the area, as it has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Lunch at local restaurant. After that proceed to visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodia flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat's five towers symbolize Meru's five peaks - the enclosing wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond, Sunset from Phnom Bakheng hill, one of the two hills dominating the plain of Angkor, from where you will have a spectacular view of the Western Baray and the surrounding plain. Dinner with apsara dance show and over night in Siem Reap. |

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Banteay Srei is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of Angkorian art. A Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, it is cut from stone of a pinkish hue and includes some of the finest stone carving seen anywhere on the planet. It is one of the smallest sites at Angkor, but what i lacks in size it makes up for in stature. It is wonderfully well preserved and many of its carvings are three-dimensional. Banteay Srei means 'Citadel of the Women' and it is said that it must have been built by a woman, as the elaborate carvings are too fine for the hand of a man. Then visit Banteay Samre temple. Lunch at local restaurant. Late afternoon, visit Chantiers - Ecoles - les Artisans d' Angkor". Here you could witness the creation of unique art pieces using the most authentic methods. These pieces are created by young Cambodians from rural area, Silk Farm. temple. Dinner at local restaurant and over night in Siem Reap. |
